I just finished making my first ball jointed doll, and its been a fun filled learning curve. I’ve made many dolls, but she’s the most complex. Kato Polyclay is extremely tough and durable, and after sanding has a beautiful skin-like texture. I used a 12.5 oz. block of beige/flesh and had around 3 oz. left over.

I can hardly wait to make the next one, and more in several different scales. Its back to doll making for me this year, and I’m enjoying it.

I’ll be making her a nice wardrobe too, partly with my own designs and partly with patterns from Matisse Fashions and Doll Patterns.

I’ll be working on those in the upcoming weeks, along with furnishings for her room. Read more about her on her own page and view pictures of her during the process.
